A lot of frustration at work (and at home) comes down to one thing.

We expect… but we never actually agree.

Expectations don’t carry much weight without an agreement. If you want someone to deliver, get specific and make it mutual.

Try this:
“Can we agree that you’ll have X done by Y date?”
Then ask:
“Is there anything that could get in the way?”

And:
“If something changes, can I count on you to tell me early and come with a solution?”

When agreements are clear, accountability gets easier and resentment goes down.

Try it this week.
